'I first got involved in Sitting Volleyball when a relative began playing for the GB team and I went along to watch. I joined in with the session and immediately enjoyed playing the sport. I remember we did some speed drills and I followed Rich Whitehead around the court, his movement and speed amazed me and my perceptions of ability and disability were instantly challenged.
I then got involved with a local Volleyball Club, Loughborough Lions, who were keen to develop a sitting volleyball team and began running sessions. I still coach that team as well as delivering a range of different sitting volleyball sessions through my business 'The Sitting Volleyball Experience.
I have been incredibly fortunate to have been able to work with some of the top coaches in the country and this has been hugely beneficial to me. I would advise anyone who is getting involved in the sport to try and learn from other people, share ideas and develop your own. I think it's important to try new things, sometimes they will work, sometimes they won't, but either way you'll learn something.
Most importantly, Sitting Volleyball is fun and you should always remember that - make sure your players are enjoying it and that you are too!'
